The Aztecs loved to use this oil to treat burns while Native Americans ate prickly pears to treat a variety of health issues. Known for having one of the highest levels of vitamin E found in any oil, it deeply hydrates your skin, whilst vitamins F and K nourish your skin and improve its elasticity. Infused with a plethora of antioxidants which strengthen connective tissues and stimulate protein production, this exceptional oil offers your skin a whirlpool of benefits it will thank you for.

Tsubaki Oil

A treasured Japanese secret that has kept Japanese women’s skin looking young and glowy for centuries. With a composition similar to sebum – the oil naturally produced by our body – this oil is a gem when it comes to its remarkable ability to deeply moisturise the skin and penetrate the deepest layers. It maintains very high levels of phytonutrients which help replenish the skin.

Cacay (Kahai) Oil

A super oil with extremely high levels of retinol, an ingredient renowned for promoting collagen, preventing cellular damage and protective the skins barrier against pollution, Kahai oil is a must-have ingredient. FAQs

Completely understandable. Many people with acne-prone/oily skin feel uneasy using oils. But do not fear, Saoirse Skincare is here! As strange as it sounds, putting oils on oily skin is absolutely fine. This is because adding oil can in fact help regulate the oil sebum produced by your own skin. The key is choosing a facial oil that will not clog your pores. Our Cocktail Feast contains many non-comedogenic oils (i.e., oils that will not clog pores) such as the brilliant prickly pear seed oil, cacay oil and tsubaki oil. Oils are an important integral of your skincare routine even if you have oily skin as they deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. Regardless of skin type, all skin needs to be fed vitamins, antioxidants and anti-ageing ingredients that oils offer. So don’t be afraid of oils if you have oily skin. But make sure you are using the right oils.

This can depend on your skin type. For normal, combination and oily-skin we recommend no more than two drops. Make sure that your skin is very damp as this not only helps the skin absorb the oil much better, it’s very helpful for spreading the oil. Many people make the mistake of adding more drops if they cannot thoroughly spread an oil. Our oils are 100% pure and undiluted, so a few drops go a long way. The high potency of this oil also means it will last you a good while!

If you have dry skin and feel you may need a bit more hydration, then add another drop. It is important that you listen to your skin. In the winter, our skin is dryer so you can also add a drop in the day time to your daily moisturiser. In the summer, we need less as our skin sweats more. So I always say let your skin guide you and you will learn to listen to you 🙂

Again, this depends on the needs of your skin. For normal, combination and oily skin, start by using the oil twice a week. For normal/combination skin, if you feel your skin can handle thrice a week, by all means try using it every other night. For dry skin, we recommend 3-4 times a week. If you have very dry or mature skin, you can even use it on a daily basis.

Many of our customers see results very quickly after using our facial oil. The excitement may sometimes lead to them increasing the number of days per week they use the facial oil and as a result, may develop some pimples. So regardless of skin type, if you find this happening to you, try using the facial oil fewer times a week.
